Turks, Kurds in mass brawl at German airport
A huge melee involving 180 people broke out in Hannover Airport after Kurdish activists demonstrated in front of the Turkish Airlines check-in desk, the British daily the Mirror reports.
The brawl was sparked when Kurdish activists, who were protesting against the Turkish attack on the majority-Kurdish region of Afrin in northwest Syria, were confronted by Turkish passengers, according to the Mirror.
The Hannover police arrived in force to intervene, separating the two sides using pepper spray.
Twitter user Yalçın Kızılkaya uploaded footage from the protest, showing the activists surrounded by German police.
Footage from the incident published on the Mirror website shows the two sides punching and kicking each other, and activists striking their opponents with their flags.
