Turkish family rescues flock of frozen storks

A flock of storks migrating from Africa to Europe had a lucky escape when a Turkish family took them in to their home to save them from freezing weather conditions.

A video shared by the Turkish Yeniçağ newspaper’s Twitter account shows the storks in distress on the floor and sofas of a home, as the family struggles to warm the birds’ frozen wings.

Turkey is a vital point on the migration path of a number of birds, including storks, which arrive in great numbers during the spring.
