‘Erdogan is a long-awaited great leader for the Muslims’ - Bosnian leader
Turkey’s president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is unpopular in the West because he is the long-waited leader of the Muslim World, Bosnia and Herzegovina's tripartite Presidency member Bakir Izetbegovic said on Saturday in Sarajevo, Anadolu Agency reported.
"Our friend is not very popular in the West, because Erdogan is a long-awaited great leader for the Muslims,” İzzetbegovic said at an event organized by his Party of Democratic Action.
"They (West) are not disturbed by primitive and ignorant Muslims. But when it come to economic development, they are disturbed by a man who opens his doors to three million refugees, who builds the world's largest airport, deals with terrorism and wars at his country's borders,” he added.
Turkey’s president Erdoğan is expected to visit Bosnia Herzegovina on May 20.
Bakir İzzetbegovic is the son of the first President of the independent Bosnia and Herzegovina, Alija Izetbegovic. "As my father lay on his deathbed, he said that he believed that Erdoğan, who he loved as a son, would be successful and that because he trusted him, he was in a sense entrusting the perpetuation of the existence of Bosnia-Herzegovina to Erdoğan,” Baker İzzetbegovic said during his visit to Turkey in 2012, when talking about his father’s relation with Erdoğan.
