Man murdered in front of crowd of onlookers at bus terminal in southeast Turkey

A man has been stabbed to death in front of a crowd of people at a bus terminal in Turkey’s southeastern province of Batman.

Passengers at the bus terminal in Batman’s Baykan district watched in horror as 20-year-old Suat Yüksekbağ was fatally stabbed by two brothers in an apparently blood feud, Turkish news agency DHA reported.

Video images shot at the scene showed that onlookers and police who rushed to help the wounded man were stopped by the knife-wielding brothers.

Once a police officer had restrained the brothers, paramedics took him to a hospital in Batman where he died of multiple stab wounds.

Yüksekbağ had travelled to Baykan district to visit his father, DHA’s report said.

The two brothers have been arrested.
