Greek air force intercepts Turkish military drone
The Greek air force has intercepted a Turkish military drone above the southeastern Aegean island of Rhodes, Greek newspaper Kathimerini said.
The drone, an Anka unmanned aerial vehicle, was intercepted by F-16 fighter jets after twice entering Greek airspace at an altitude of around 6 km above the Dodecanese island, it said.
There were two dogfights over the Aegean Sea on Thursday after a variety of Turkish jets entered contested airspace throughout the day.
Recent months have seen increasingly aggressive rhetoric from both Greek and Turkish officials in a decline in relations not seen since the 1990s.
