Turkey to open trade centres in Moscow, Riyadh - report
Turkey will open new trade centres in Moscow, Riyadh and in India to help boost exports, Milliyet newspaper reported.
The facilities will be in addition to similar centres in the New York, Tehran and Dubai, Milliyet said. Turkey is taking a poll of members of its main exporters’ association to decide on priorities, it said.
The plan is part of an initiative to increase exports and raise the exposure of Turkish brands by the country’s centenary in 2023, the paper said.
Turkey is seeking to boost exports to help increase economic growth and narrow a trade and current account deficit. The shortfall has left its currency and economy exposed to fluctuations in sentiment toward emerging markets.
