The Turkish government in economic balancing act ahead of elections

Economist Guldem Atabay speaks with Mark Bentley about the current state of the economy and the balancing act the government is engaged in ahead of March local elections. On the one hand, it wants to spend to garner votes but on the other, it knows it needs to show prudence to win critical investor support for its economic policies. Investors appear cautiously optimistic for the time being, feelings reflected in the recent rally in the lira.
