Explosion in Ankara’s tax office might be sabotaged, officials say
An explosion that injured three people in the Turkish capital on Thursday evening may not have been an accident, officials said.
Initial reports said the blast at a tax office in the Çukurambar district of Ankara was caused by natural gas trapped in the basement.
The governor of Ankara, Ercan Topaca, later said sabotage could not be ruled out, according to state-run news agency Anadolu.
Anti-terrorism police units collected security camera recordings in the district and a detailed report regarding the cause of the explosion will be shared with the public, news reports said.
