Germany's FlixBus to buy top Turkish bus company

Global mobility provider FlixBus is set to procure one of Turkey’s oldest bus companies, Kamil Koç, Dünya newspaper reported on Wednesday.

The purchase is expected to be finalised in the coming weeks after the approval of Turkey’s competition authority, according to Dünya.

"We are extremely happy to welcome Kamil Koç to the family to start a new era in the Turkish mobility market," Dünya quoted Jochen Engert, CEO and founder of FlixBus, as saying.

Flixbus has quickly become Europe’s largest intercity bus network after its foundation in 2013, serving 45 million travellers across Europe and the United States in 2018 alone.
