Turkish mobile games company sells for $250 million

U.S. computer games giant Zynga has bought Turkish counterpart Gram Games for $250 million, venture capital news site Venture Beat said.

Gram Games, which employs 77 people, has nine games at present, including hit games 1010 and Merge Dragons, which have been downloaded more than 170 million times.

Zynga, meanwhile, is known for the Facebook Scrabble clone Words With Friends and online card game Zynga Poker.

“We look forward to marrying our unique approach to game making with Zynga’s live services expertise to grow our games and continue to delight millions of players around the world,” Gram co-founder Kaan Karamancı said.

Zynga also bought another major Turkish games studio, Peak Games, for $100 million last year.
