Erdoğan to IMF: “Mind your own business”

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) repeatedly warns Turkey about overheating in the Turkish economy following rapid recovery, a widening current account deficit, and oversupply in the building and construction sector.

Talking at AKP’s 6th provincial congress in Bolu, Erdoğan lashed out at IMF, telling the Organization to mind its own business. “If someone is to rule Turkey, that person is me; you can just take your money,” Erdogan said.

“Do you get your money? Yes, you do. It [the IMF] asked to borrow money from us. My colleagues  asked me whether they should do it. I said yes. If someone takes money today, he will take orders the next day,” Erdogan continued.
