Police detain 10 over ISIS links in central Turkey

Turkish police have detained ten people over suspected links to the Islamic State (ISIS) in the country’s central province of Konya.

Nine men and one woman were detained during late night raids of several homes in the province on Sunday, independent news site Diken reported.

The suspects are believed to have fled the extremist jihadist group and may have been planning an attack in Turkey, police said following an initial questioning.

The detentions arrived on the sixth day of Turkey’s military incursion into neighbouring Syria targeting Kurdish militias which spearheaded the U.S. -led war on ISIS in the region.

Nearly 800 ISIS affiliates fled from camps, the Kurdish-led administration of northern Syria said on Sunday.
