Turkey arrests ISIS suspects from Iraq in capital Ankara

Turkish authorities have arrested nine Iraqi nationals suspected of links to Islamic State (ISIS) in operations in the capital Ankara on Wednesday, state-run Anadolu news agency said.

The Turkish government has increased efforts to capture members of ISIS in both Turkey and Syria, where it launched an offensive in October targeting Kurdish forces that previously spearheaded the U.S.-led war against the extreme jihadist group.

Turkey maintains that it has arrested hundreds of ISIS suspects, including foreign nationals, preventing them from launching attacks in Europe and elsewhere. It also says it has done more to fight the group in Syria than any other country in the NATO alliance.
