German neo-Nazis send pig’s head to Turkish broadcaster in Berlin

A German neo-Nazi group has sent a pig’s head to a recently formed Turkish media outlet in Berlin.

TRT Deutsch‘s editor-in-chief said letters insulting Islam and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had been included in a package containing a pig’s head sent to their Berlin office.

The letter was signed by the Prinz Eugen Group, named after a Nazi-era military brigade, said state-run Anadolu news agency.

“Keep building your mosques so that enough space is available for our pigs. Get out of Berlin,” the letter said. It also described Turks and Arabs as “the garbage of Europe.”

TRT Deutsch was launched in January 2020 as the German-language news platform of Turkey's main public broadcaster, TRT.

Director General of TRT TV Channels İbrahim Eren said in a statement: “Those kind of attacks boost our determination as journalists.”

In 2019, a mosque in Germany run by the Turkish-Islamic Union for Religious Affairs (DITIB) received letters signed by PEG, the acronym for Prinz Eugen Group, insulting Islam, Turks, and Arabs and including an image of a pig.
