Footage emerges of alleged Gülenists being detained in Kosovo
Video footage has emerged from Kosovo of the arrest and extradition of six Turkish nationals to Turkey on Thursday.
The six Turkish citizens - alleged to be by the Turkish media as high-level members of the religious organisation Turkey’s government has labelled the Fethullahist Terror Organization (FETÖ) and accuses of having orchestrated the failed 2016 coup - were apprehended in Kosovo and brought to Turkey, according to reports in the Turkish press.
Kosovan TV station, T7, has shared footage from the ‘’abducation’’ of the Turkish nationals. The video shows a moving car which is stopped and its passengers being forcefully detained.
One woman, held the be wife of one of the abducted men, is seen attempting to stop another vehicle in the road in order to ask for help, but she is forced off the road.
While Turkey has stated that the operation was headed by Turkey’s National Intelligence Agency (MİT) in cooperation with the Kosovo Intelligence Agency, Kosovan Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, on Friday removed the country’s interior minister and intelligence chief from duty, noting that the operation took place outside of his knowledge.
