Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is finally a leader who can speak to the Islamic world, President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita of Mali was quoted by Turkish state news agency Anadolu as saying.

“We know the great importance of Mr. Erdoğan to the development of Islamic nations,” Keita said. “There was truly a need for a leader who could make his voice heard in the Islamic world and reveal his leadership. That voice is now being heard, and we are with him.”

Keita said he had been very impressed by the Istanbul metrobus lines on his visit to the city and that Erdoğan had offered to set up similar services in Mali.
