Meral Akşener denied permission to visit soldiers

Meral Akşener, head of Turkey’s opposition IYI party, was denied permission on Saturday to visit military units involved in Turkey’s ongoing operation in Syria’s Afrin region, according to CNN Turk.

Akşener who had gone to the military joint operations centre in Turkey’s southern province of Hatay along Koray Aydın, another member of the IYI party, chatted with guards after being refused permission to enter the compound.

“It’s not a problem,” she was quoted as saying, “We came to give moral support.”
