Military high school to reopen next year

Kuleli Military High School in Istanbul, shut down after the July 15, 2016 failed coup attempt, is to be reopened under the Turkish Military Academy Command in the next academic year, left-nationalist Aydınlık newspaper said.

Kuleli Military High School, founded on Sept. 21, 1845 by Ottoman Sultan Abdülmecid I, is the oldest and most prestigious military high school in Turkey.

After the school was shut down, Defence Minister Fikri Işık said it would be turned into a museum.
