Pakistan to buy 30 attack helicopters from Turkey - Anadolu agency

Pakistan is set to buy 30 T129 ATAK helicopters from Turkey, which are produced by Turkish Aerospace Industries and Italian AgustaWestland, state-run Anadolu news agency reported.

The two sides announced on Thursday that they signed a deal for the sale of 30 Turkish attack helicopters, the agency said, citing an election manifesto the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party announced on Thursday.

Pakistani Minister for Defense Production Rana Tanveer Hussain had in November 2017 interview, said his country planned to procure 30 attack helicopters and four naval ships from Turkey, the agency said, recalling that in March 23, T129 ATAK helicopters from Turkey participated in a ceremony in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad.

In 2017,  Pakistan signed 10 agreements with Turkey to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, including exchange of financial intelligence, hydrocarbon and defence cooperation.
