Turkish woman includes voting slip picture in seeking presidential help
A woman who sought help from the Presidential Communications Centre over a court case has made headlines after including pictures of herself voting for President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his Justice and Development Party (AKP) at the last election in her petition to the institution.
Güllü Sel was tricked by a fake cosmetic surgeon who injected her lips with industrial silicon instead of the type typically used in cosmetic surgery, causing them to swell up far more than intended, Hürriyet newspaper said.
She is taking the man to court, and petitioned for help from the presidency in resolving the case quickly in order to escape financial difficulties.
“My dear president and AKP leader, for years I have been an AKP supporter with all my soul and I and my family have voted for you together. I ask your help on this issue,” Sel wrote, including pictures of herself voting with her petition.
