106,740 guns missing or stolen in Turkey in 2017

More than 100,000 guns were reported lost or stolen in Turkey last year, the Interior Ministry said in its 2017 annual report.

The Hürriyet newspaper quoted the report as saying 106,740 firearms, 387,178 cars and 1,147,000 number plates had been lost or stolen.

There were 448,228 deaths recorded in 2017, 1,344,215 births, 605,052 marriages, and 137,294 divorces.

More than $48 million had also been paid out to victims of the 2016 failed coup attempt over the course of the year, the ministry said.
