Istanbul police detain five over assassination of former Iranian spy

Turkish police in Istanbul detained five people on Thursday in a joint investigation with Turkish intelligence of the killing of a former Iranian spy on Nov. 15.

Turkish police arrested a man who is believed to have assassinated Mesut Mevlevi, a former member of the Iranian intelligence who fled to Istanbul after becoming a dissident, by firing on him from in a drive-by shooting, A Haber said

The other four people detained have been accused of providing a gun and shelter to the assassin, it said.
