Million-lira fine for Turkish TV over child dancers

Turkey’s media watchdog has fined a private television channel for showing children aged between seven and 11 years-old dancing in shorts during the programme “You’ve got Talent”, economy news website Patronlar Dünyası said.

The watchdog, RTÜK, fined TV8 1 million lira ($266,000), it said.

The secularist Cumhuriyet newspaper said pro-government members of the RTÜK ruling committee had complained, "people are getting aroused" by the children.
