Judges in opposition deputies’ cases switched out at night
The judges overseeing the cases of Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and deputy Enis Berberoğlu have been taken off the cases in a midnight operation, opposition Cumhuriyet newspaper quoted CHP deputy Barış Yarkadaş as saying.
“Midnight operations in the judiciary are a sign of an attempt to punish the CHP,” Yarkadaş said.
“Three judges were taken off duty at the same place. The Justice Ministry must make a statement.”
Yarkadaş said that the Kılıçdaroğlu and Berberoğlu cases were being fixed.
“The judges at the Istanbul Anatolian Side Court and the Anatolian Court of Appeals had their places changed with a midnight order,” he said. “This is called a judicial coup.”
He said he believed that the order had been given by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
