Turkey needs to complete payments for S-400 delivery - Russia
Ankara needs to make all its payments for the S-400 missile defence system before Russia will deliver them as per the contract signed between the two countries, a Russian official said at a press conference on Wednesday.
The unnamed spokesperson for the Russian Federal Service of Military-Technical Cooperation said that the S-400 batteries could be delivered to Turkey by 2019 or 2020.
In response to a question regarding Ankara's demands for technology transfer and whether the production of the missiles would be carried out in Turkey, the same official said those issues would be addressed in separate talks.
Sergey Chemezov, the CEO of Russian state defence company Rostec, has previously said that the total value of the deal is more than $2 billion.
Turkey's president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan confirmed in September that Turkey had transferred its deposit for the deal to Moscow.
