Turkey should beware of Russia’s hacking power – columnist
Turkey should be careful about Russia, which has shown by hacking officials and manipulating elections in the West that it is willing and able to damage hostile countries through cyber warfare, conservative columnist Fehmi Koru said.
Russian had influenced elections in the United States, the Netherlands, Germany, Ukraine and Georgia, Koru said.
“The issue is important for Turkey,” he said. “No, not only because we will carry out three separate elections in the next 22 months, but because Turkey is carrying out a sensitive military operation, and this with the backing of Russia.”
Koru also said that Time magazine showed how unused the United States was to its present lonely diplomatic situation.
“Countries in leading positions are not used to loneliness; they cannot stand it. The U.S. is now in this position,” he said.
