Three quarters of Turks say TV is their primary news resource
Three quarters of Turks prefer to watch TV to catch up on the news, rather than following social media, a poll by Ankara-based research company Metropoll showed.
Just 17 percent said they preferred social media as a resource, Metropoll reported. Fourteen percent said newspapers were their primary source.
Sixty-one percent of respondents said they used Facebook, 24 percent Instagram and 25 percent Twitter.
Sixty-seven percent of respondents said they do not share political content on social media platforms.
Just 30 percent of Turks think social media should be blocked for security or privacy reasons, including 37 percent of supporters of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP).
Metropoll, which published the poll on Twitter, did not provide any details about how many people it interviewed for the survey.
