Minister silences talkative robot, creates internet hero
A cheeky robot has won the hearts of Turkish internet users after testing a government minister’s patience at a digital technology showcasing event in Ankara, Newsweek reports.
Turkish Minister for Transport, Maritime and Communication Ahmet Arslan was sharing the stage with a three-foot talking robot named Sanbot at the event.
Sanbot repeatedly interrupted Arslan’s speech, telling him to speak more slowly and at one point curtly asking the minister, “What are you talking about?”
Although the event maintained a cheerful atmosphere, Arslan eventually lost patience and asked the event staff to “do what is necesary” to silence the talking robot.
The exchange drew laughter from the live audience, and the humour was shared across the country as footage from Sanbot’s exchange quickly went viral on Turkish social media.
