U.S. electric car company Tesla is preparing to open a new factory in Turkey by the end of year, Greek automotive site newsauto.gr said.
Tesla Motors is opting for Turkey as a production base to reach European and Middle Eastern markets, the site said.
Tesla had been planning to open a research and development facility in Greece, the website said, but had chosen Turkey instead.
Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk said on Twitter he would be attending a launch party for his brand in Turkey.
Musk created a media buzz last month when he spent $9.9 million of his own money to buy 33,000 additional shares of Tesla.
