Greeks flocked to Turkey for Christmas shopping

The traffic from Greece to Turkey has risen sharply in recent days, the news site said, with more than 1,000 vehicles passing from the Kipoi customs to the neighbouring country on daily basis.
The majority of Greeks choose to return the same day, after shopping in Turkish markets, it said.
Meanwhile, Turkish tourists are also flocking to Greece for new year celebrations.
The occupancy rates of hotels in Alexandroupoli, eastern Thrace's largest town, has risen up to 95 percent due to waves of Turkish tourists visiting Greece for the new year.
