Turkey's deputy tourism minister dies in car accident
Turkey's Deputy Culture and Tourism Minister Ahmet Haluk Dursun has died in a car accident in the country’s eastern province of Van.
Dursun’s car fell off the side of the road in the town of Erciş in Van province on Monday following a visit he made to a historic site in neighbouring Bitlis province, state-run Anadolu news agency said.
Three others were injured in the accident, it said.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu offered their condolences in statements they issued on Twitter.
The 62-year-old Deputy Culture and Tourism Minister was appointed to the post in July 2018.
