Clashes among Turkish-backed rebel factions in northern Syria

Turkish-backed rebel factions, vying for influence in northern Syria, have clashed among each other, Syrian Human Rights Observatory (SOHR) reported on Sunday, citing local sources.

"SOHR sources have reported that a dispute flared up in Jarabulus area in the northern countryside of Aleppo over controlling the crossing at the border with Turkey," SOHR said.

The clashes resulted in the killing of one fighter and left many civilians injured, it said.

Previous clashes among Turkish-backed rebels left over 10 people dead in the northwestern enclave of Afrin following a dispute on dividing the city among militias. Reports were on the rise regarding infighting as rebels hab been on a looting spree in the enclave.
