Turkish businesswoman to manage $18 billion as GroupM CEO for EMEA region
Turkey’s Demet Ikiler was named as CEO of GroupM’s operations for Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, parent group WPP, a London-based communications company, said in a statement.
Ikiler will lead operations for GroupM, the world’s largest advertising media company, in the EMEA region and also remain country manager for WPP in Turkey, the company told PRNewswire.
GroupM operates in 27 markets in EMEA, managing $18 billion in media investment billings and controlling a 32 percent market share, the company said.
"Demet has been an incredible asset to both GroupM and WPP for 20 years, helping to rapidly grow GroupM in the Turkish market during her time as CEO," said Global CEO Christian Juhl. "Her openness to the pace of change and understanding the benefits of an emerging global technology and services capability makes her the type of leader we look for at GroupM.”
