One in five of Israeli travellers from Turkey test positive for COVID-19
Some 20 percent of Israelis returning from Turkey tested positive for COVID-19, ranking the country first place regarding the infection rate among Israeli travellers, Jerusalem Post reported on Sunday, citing data from the health ministry.
Out of 988 Israeli tourists returning from Turkey between Oct. 1-28, 197 of them tested positive for coronavirus, Jerusalem Post said.
Bulgaria was ranked second with a 13 percent infection rate, while the United States was third with 6 percent, it said.
The spread of COVID-19 in Turkey resumed this week as the number of new patients hit a new record on Saturday.
Turkey's Health Ministry announced that 5,532 people had been diagnosed with COVID-19 symptoms in the last 24 hours. The new cases raised the country's overall count to 440,805.
