Turkish sector confidence improves, led by construction industry

Confidence in Turkey’s services, retail and construction sectors improved in September, the Turkish Statistical Institute said.

The increase was led by the construction industry, hit hard by last year’s currency crisis and a resultant economic recession. Confidence rose to 60.1 this month from 55.5 in August, the institute said on its website on Tuesday.

In the retail industry, confidence climbed to 97.6 from 95 the previous month. It also edged up in the services sector to 89.3 from 89.1, according to the data.
