Turkey confident of staging Champions League final, to resume domestic football in June
Turkish Football Federation President Nihat Özdemir said on Wednesday that Turkey would be able to host the Champions League final in August, Sky Sports reported.
UEFA indefinitely postponed the competition two months ago. The final had originally been set to take place in May.
Özdemir also said Turkey’s suspended professional football leagues would resume in June. Sporting events across Turkey were suspended on March 19 to stem the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.
"Following the joint works of the Health Ministry and scientific board, they will decide how the games will be played," TRT World quoted the TFF head as saying.
