Gunman attacked a foreign language school shouting "damn American imperialism"
A gunman attacked a foreign language class in Adapazarı, a northwestern town in Turkey, shouting "damn American imperialism," and took five hostages, Friday. The assailant, who fired a shot to the ceiling was later apprehended by the special operations police, and the hostages were released.
Police Chief Fatih Kaya said that the suspects were taken into custody and were sent for psychological examination.
The incident took place in a private language school Ihlas News Agency, IHA, reported. According to the report, a man, allegedly under the influence of the narcotics entered the classroom and took five people hostage. After a group of the students managed to flee the scene, they reported the attack to the local police.
The police did not release the names of the suspects.
