Head of Turkish intelligence meets U.S. Congress members in Washington - Hürriyet

Hakan Fidan, the head of Turkey’s National Intelligence Organisation (MİT) met members of the U.S. Congress in Washington on Thursday, Hürriyet newspaper reported.

The meetings were on the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2 and on Turkey’s extradition request for Fethullah Gülen, the U.S. based leader of a religious group Turkey accuses of carrying out a coup attempt in 2016, Hürriyet said.

Sources in MİT declined to confirm or deny the reports on Fidan’s visit to Washington, Hürriyet said.
