Sen. Schumer says Trump puts U.S. in danger as ISIS fighters escape prison
Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer on Tuesday said President Donald Trump’s abrupt decision to withdraw troops from Syria has put the United States in danger as captured ISIS fighters return to the global battlefield.
“It is a clear demonstration of the president’s recklessness when it comes to dealing with dictators,” Schumer added.

For the sake of our national security, President Trump & his administration need to get a handle on this situation.
Schumer said the fate of escaped ISIS detainees was unknown, while Senator Jack Reed referred to Syrian Democratic Forces Commander Mazloum Kobani accusing Turkey of ethnic cleansing.
Senator Chris van Hollen, who co-sponsored with Republican Senator Lindsey Graham the Countering Turkish Aggression Act of 2019, also referred to the same accusation and urged Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to allow a vote on the bill.
We heard from the top political official of the Syrian Democratic Council that Turkish-backed jihadi forces are seeking to wipe out the Syrian Kurds and that hundreds of ISIS fighters are escaping. McConnell must stop stalling and allow a vote on the bipartisan sanctions bill. https://t.co/dSun3Xc1vR— Chris Van Hollen (@ChrisVanHollen) October 22, 2019
