Subcontractor arrested in deputy Vodafone Turkey shooting case
A manager of a former subcontractor is among three people arrested in relation to the targeting of a Vodafone executive on Wednesday, independent news site T24 said.
Vodafone Deputy CEO Malik Rau’s car was hit by three bullets as it came under fire on his commute to work in Istanbul, but no one was injured.
The website said a man in a white cap, later identified as a manager of a Vodafone subcontractor that had recently lost its contract with the firm, had lain in wait for Rau and shot at his car five times as it passed.
Two others, also identified solely by their initials, were also implicated in the plot.
Rau had lived in Turkey for around two-and-a-half years, the site said.
