10,000 women travel on Conscience Convoy to Turkish-Syrian border
Women activists travelled to Turkey from 55 different countries to raise awareness about Syrian women’s suffering in the civil war, Euronews reported on Thursday.
Women from around the world arrived in Istanbul on Tuesday and travelled on 155 buses to Hatay, a Turkish province bordering Syria, arriving on International Women’s Day on Thursday.
The event at Hatay was attended by 10,000 women activists, said organisers.
Among the attendees were 200 women from the Mothers of Srebrenica group, an activist group representing survivors of the Massacre of Srebrenica during the Bosnian War, according to Euronews.
