Turkish pro-government media plays three monkeys over Zarrab

In many countries, the allegation in an American court of law that former ministers had taken bribes to the tune of tens of millions of Euros would be a major news event.

However, the majority of Turkey’s pro-government newspapers – 11 in all – decided not to feature the testimony of Reza Zarrab anywhere on their front pages.

Those that did feature news of the trial – the more independent Islamist newspapers rather than those directly controlled by Erdoğan allies – generally avoided mentioning that any ministers were accused of taking bribes.
