Turkey bars retail network from selling alcohol under COVID-19 rules

Turkey has barred a network of small retailers from selling alcoholic drinks for 17 days as part of a lockdown of the population announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Monday, the Diken news website reported on Tuesday citing an industry representative.

The Interior Ministry has ordered the ban, said Özgür Aybaş, head of a group overseeing the Tekel distributors, according to Diken.
